What is the overlap alert between a clock in/out and a time-off period? Does it block my clock in/out?
This alert is informational; it suggests a correction, but your clock in/out is saved regardless of whether you edit or request anything.
It appears when you clock in or out in real time, from the web version or the app, during a period in which you already have an approved time-off request.
The alert displays the time-off information and allows you to correct it at that moment, either by editing it directly or by requesting the change, depending on the level of self-management you have configured.
This alert is purely informational. Your clock in/out will be saved even if you do not edit the time-off request or request any changes.
How does it work?
Step 1: clock in or out
Clock in or out as usual, from the web version or the app.
If the time coincides with an approved time-off period, an alert window will open automatically.
Step 2: review the automatically filled-in information
The window will display:
- The day.
- The name of the time-off type.
- The colour associated with the time-off type.
- The original hours.
The time fields will be filled in automatically depending on the type of clock in/out:
- If you are clocking in, the end time will be filled in with the current time.
- If you are clocking out, the start time will be filled in with the current time.
Step 3: edit or request the change
Click the main button in the window:
- If you can manage your own time off, you'll see "Edit" and will be able to apply the change directly.
- If the time-off type requires approval, you'll see "Request," and a modification request will be sent to the person responsible for approving it.
Once you confirm the action, you'll see a message indicating that the process completed successfully.
Important: if the modified hours exceed the maximum time permitted for that time-off type, Sesame will display a warning before saving the changes.
