Can I assign or request a clock in/out if one is already open?

In Sesame HR, there are rules to keep clock ins/outs organized and avoid duplicates. That’s why, whenever the system detects duplicate clock in/out requests, whether by the employee or the administrator, it sends a warning message explaining the type of overlap and how to manage the issue.

Below are the cases in which the system blocks the assignment or submission of new clock in/out requests:

  1. Assigning a clock in/out when there is already a clock in/out request pending.
  2. Assigning a clock in/out that overlaps with one or more clock ins/outs that have already been approved.
  3. Submitting a clock in/out request that duplicates another previously submitted request (pending).
  4. Submitting a clock in/out request when there is already an active or assigned clock in/out.

If an employee needs to modify an existing clock in/out, they must contact their administrator to edit the open clock in/out instead of creating a new one. Depending on company configuration, employees may also have permission to edit their own clock ins/outs.
