How can I share a course via a public link?
Generate a public link for any published course so that anyone can view it without needing a Sesame account. This feature is useful for showing a demo or sharing training content with another company.
⚠️ Bear in mind that you can only share courses that are in "Published" status.
Steps to follow
- Go to the "Courses" tab and open the course you want to share.
- Click the "Share" button, at the top right.
- A unique public URL will be generated, along with a QR code and a button to copy the link.
- (Optional) Turn on "Password protect" and enter the password that whoever opens the link will need to type in.
- Share the URL or QR code with whoever you like.
💡 If you click "Share" again on a course that already has a generated link, you'll always see the same one: a new one isn't created each time.
Whoever receives the link will be able to view the syllabus, lessons, and course materials without needing to log in, exactly as in your administrator preview.
How to change or remove the password
From the same "Share" view, you can add, change, or remove the password on a link that's already been generated, without the link itself changing.
Deactivating the link
Click "Deactivate" in the panel to make the link unusable immediately. The course and its content won't be affected within your account. Anyone who tries to open the link will see a "Link expired" notice.
If you deactivate a URL and then click "Share" again, a new URL will be generated, different from the previous one.
💡 The public view is just a showcase: it doesn't allow enrolment, doesn't save progress, and doesn't issue certificates. Quizzes can be viewed, but can't be submitted as they can in the actual course.
