How do I create and manage course materials?
Materials are the content blocks you add to your courses. You can create them directly while editing a course, or manage them from the "Materials" tab. From there you can:
- Filter by material type: chapter, video, or quiz.
- See how many courses use each material (usage indicator).
- Preview a material before opening it.
- Duplicate a material to create a modified version.
- Edit an existing material
Material types
In Sesame Learning, there are 3 types of materials:
- Chapter. Content in rich text format. It can include images, bold text, lists, headings, and attachments that employees can download while taking the course.
- Video. Add videos via an external URL (YouTube, Vimeo, or other platforms) or by uploading a file directly. The video is displayed embedded in the course player.
-
Quiz. Sets of questions that can be used as mid-course assessments or as the final assessment.
If you edit a material that is being used in one or more published courses, the platform will show a warning. Any changes you make will not apply to courses already using that material, only to new courses you create going forward.
