How do I import a course shared via a public URL?
If someone shares with you the public URL of a course from another Sesame account, you can import it into your own account as a complete, editable copy, without having to create it from scratch.
To do so, you must have a role with access to LMS management in your account. If you don't have this access, you'll be able to view the course but will not be able to complete the import.
Steps to import the course
- Open the public URL that was shared with you. Enter the password if prompted.
- Click the "Import to Sesame" button.
- Log in with your Sesame account.
- Confirm the import. If the course contains large files, such as videos, you'll see a progress indicator while the process completes.
- When the import is complete, you'll find the course in the "Imported courses" tab, with the status "Draft". From there, you can edit and publish it freely, just like any other course created in your account.
⚠️ The imported course is unlinked from the original course from the moment of import. If the original course is subsequently modified, your copy will not be updated.
If you import the same public course more than once, each import will generate an independent copy and will not replace the previous ones.
