How do I configure the assessment for a course?
The assessment mode defines whether employees receive a grade upon completing a course and how that grade is calculated. You can choose from three options:
- No numerical assessment: the course does not generate a grade. The employee passes simply by completing all the materials.
- Final evaluation: the employee's grade is calculated from a single questionnaire presented at the end of the course. Any other questionnaires included in the course (if any) are not taken into account for the final grade. If you choose this option, you'll need to indicate which questionnaire will serve as the final assessment.
- Quiz average: the final grade corresponds to the arithmetic average of all questionnaires included in the course. All questionnaires carry equal weight.
In the Final evaluation and Quiz average modes, you can set a minimum grade (from 0 to 100). If the employee does not reach that grade, the course will be marked as "Not passed".
Important: regardless of the assessment mode you choose, if an employee does not pass an intermediate questionnaire (that is, one that is not the final evaluation), they will not be able to progress to the next material without retaking and passing it.
In sequential courses, the employee will not be able to continue until they pass that questionnaire. In non-sequential courses, they can access other lessons or materials, but the questionnaire will remain pending, and the course cannot be completed until it is passed.
This rule also applies to the Quiz average mode. Previously, failing a questionnaire only affected the final grade. Now, it also prevents the course from being completed until that questionnaire is passed.
