How do I configure a clock in/out type with paid and unpaid time?

To configure a clock in/out type with differentiated time periods, paid and unpaid, go to the Clock in/out types section and follow these steps.

Step by step

  • Step 1: access the clock in/out type settings

Go to Configuration >> Time tracking >> Clock in/out types and select the type you want to edit, or create a new one.

  • Step 2: enable the period configuration

Within the clock in/out type's edit form, enable the time periods option. You will see two fields:

- Unpaid time: enter the maximum time limit for this period.
- Paid time: the system will apply this period automatically once the previous limit has been exceeded.

  • Step 3: save the changes

Click "Save". From that point on, employees using this clock in/out type will follow the configured periods automatically, with no need to manually select another type.

Important

  • Automatic switch: when the employee reaches the limit of the first period, the system applies the second one automatically.

  • Single clock in/out: employees continue using a single clock in/out type, which prevents them from manually activating the paid period before the time is up.

  • Flexible configuration: you can apply this configuration to as many clock in/out types as you need and define different limits for each one.
