How do I link a device to my Sesame account?

To set up the fixed clock in/out point at your company, you need to link the device to your Sesame account. This involves completing an initial step on the panel and a subsequent step on the device itself.

  1. On the panel follow this route: Configuration >> Devices>> Information. Make sure the “Tablet” option is enabled as clock in/out method. If so, go to Tablet in the menu and select Add device. Choose the Tablet option and continue.

Select the office where you want to place the device and click on Continue. A 6-digit numerical code will be generated.

  2. On the tablet, enter the numerical code obtained from the panel. Once the code is registered, the Tablet will be successfully linked to the account and will be set up as a fixed clock in/out point.

Create clock in/out groups and link your device to your Sesame Account

What are clock in/out groups?
They are container folders that group or associate different types of clock ins/outs based on the criteria you have chosen for them to be part of the same group. For example, a group can consist of all types of clock ins/outs within a company, at a specific location, or in the same department.
You can create as many clock in/out groups as you need.

To enable clock-in/out groups, you will need to do so from:

Settings >> Schedules >> Clock in/out types >>

There, activate the ‘Activate clock in/out groups’ button to make the Clock in/out groups tab available in the Clock in/out Types view. In this setting, you can also enable the Show deactivated option.

Once you enable clock in/out groups, the corresponding tab will appear, allowing you to view all created groups, as well as the button to ‘Create a clock in/out group.’

When creating a clock in/out group, you can assign a name and choose a color. Then, click ‘Create’ to confirm the creation.

Add clock-in/out types to the clock-in/out groups and link the groups to tablet devices

In each clock in/out group, you can add as many clock in/out types as you wish provided they have been created previously. Click the +Add button and select the clock in/out types you want to include in each group. The selected types will appear in a list.

When assigning a clock in/out type that is already linked to a device, a notification will appear indicating this, offering either the option to unlink that clock in/out type from the device or to link the clock in/out group collectively to that specific device.

From the device's own configuration, you can also link clock in/out types and clock in/out groups.

Let’s take a look at this next!

Link the clock-in/out groups from the tablet device configuration

On each device, you can configure the clock in/out types and groups that you desire. You can also do this from the device settings:

Configuration >> Devices >> Tablet

You will find a list of all the devices you have configured. Click on the three dots on the right and select Edit. You will be able to enable these three actions:

  • Allow clock outs from this device
  • Allow breaks
  • Assign clock in/out types to this device

When enabling this action, all the clock in/out types and groups you have created will appear, allowing you to select them to be linked with the device you are configuring. Once you have selected all the types and groups you wish to link, confirm by clicking Edit.
