What are clock in/out groups and what are they for?

A clock in/out group is a way to organize different types of clock ins/outs under the same category.

This is useful when your company manages many clock in/out types and you need to group them together to find them faster on devices like tablets.

Example:
Imagine your company delivers orders to several stores. You’ve created different clock in/out types with the name of each store.

To avoid clutter, you could place them all in a clock in/out group called “Stores.” That way, within that group, you’ll find all the clock ins/outs related to the stores.

Why create clock in/out groups?

  • Makes it easier to organize clock in/out types.
  • Reduces search time when many clock in/out types exist.
  • On devices like tablets, it helps employees quickly find their group and select the correct clock in/out type.

How to create a clock in/out group

Before creating a clock in/out group, you’ll need to enable this configuration in the system. To do so, go to: Configuration >> Schedules >> Clock in/out types >> ⚙️ (gear icon).

  • Activate the switch next to "Activate clock in/out groups".
  • Once enabled, the system will add a new tab called "Groups" within Clock in/out types.
  • Go there and click "Create clock in/out group".
  • Give your group a name, assign it a color for easy identification, and select the clock in/out types you want to include.
  • Finally, save changes.

Tip: you can create as many groups as you need.
