How can I tell which employees are working remotely?
The easiest way to check in real time whether an employee is working remotely is by following this path: Clock ins/outs >> Who’s In >> Remote.
For this section to work correctly, you will need to have at least one location created and assigned to your employees' Workplaces, Departments, or Groups. If you don't, all sorts of clock ins/outs you have previously created may appear under "Remote".
You can also check who’s working remotely from the Clock ins/outs section.
Why does a clock in/out appear as "Remote"?
In Sesame HR, a clock in/out is considered remote when an employee registers their entry or exit outside the configured geolocation area.
This may happen for several reasons:
- The workplace, department, or employee group does not have any location configured.
- The employee clocked in/out from a point outside the defined radius.
- The device’s location wasn’t active or couldn’t be detected accurately.
How to prevent a clock in/out from appearing as remote
If you want clock ins/outs made in the office not to appear as remote, it is important to create a location for each work zone and assign it to the corresponding Workplace, Department, or Group, with a radius large enough to cover the entire area.
Define a minimum radius of 250 metres to compensate for small GPS signal inaccuracies.
