How do I create a course from scratch?
To create a course, you need to follow two steps. But first, in the top menu, click "Courses" and then "Create course".
For now, only holders of a default role (general and specific) can create and assign courses.
Step 1 - General configuration
Fill in the relevant fields:
- Give the course a title (this is the name employees will see in the catalogue).
- Add a cover image; if you skip this, a default image will be used.
- Select the category that best fits the course topic.
- Enable sequential learning if you want learners to complete lessons in a specific order.
- Configure the course visibility, that is, who can see it and enroll (more information in this article).
- Choose how employees will be assessed (more information in this article).
- Finally, add a short description explaining what the course covers and what employees will learn.
Step 2 - Course structure
Once the configuration is saved, start adding lessons. Within each one, you can group the materials (chapters, videos, and quizzes) that cover the same topic.
Reorder materials and lessons using drag and drop.
Once you have your lesson structure in place, add your materials. You have two options:
- Create a material from scratch. Click "Create chapter", "Create video", or "Create quiz", depending on the type of material you want to add.
- Reuse existing materials. Search for the material in the library and drag and drop it into your preferred lesson.
New courses are saved as "Draft". When the course is ready for employees to see:
- Open the course from the list in the "Courses" tab.
- In the top right, change the status to "Published".
- Click "Save".
