How can I open a Wallet account as a joint ownership?
Below, you’ll find a detailed explanation of each step you’ll go through to open a Wallet account as a joint ownership.
Please note that during the account creation process, your information will be saved automatically every time you complete a step or sub-step.
Step 1: account holder
In this first step, you’ll need to identify who will be the account holder by completing the following fields:
Do you want to open the account under your name?
-
Yes. A form will open with your Sesame details (name, surname, date of birth, email, and phone number). You’ll need to indicate whether you are the Legal Representative or the Authorized Signatory.

- No. You’ll have two options to designate another person as the account holder:
- Choose an existing user in Sesame: the account will be created under that user’s name. You’ll need to confirm their details and indicate whether they are the Legal Representative or the Authorized Signatory.
-
Create a new user (free): a new Sesame account will be created for this user, and you’ll need to specify whether they are the Legal Representative or the Authorized Signatory.

⚠️ Whenever the account holder is marked as an Authorized Signatory, you’ll be asked later in the process to download and upload both the "Power of Attorney signed by the Legal Representative" and the "Legal representative’s ID document" (in color).

Step 2: organization
In this step, you’ll need to fill in your company information, divided into three sections:
1.Company Identification. Here you’ll specify:
- "Joint ownership" as the type of organization.
- The company’s name (it must match exactly as it appears in the Commercial Registry).
- Whether the organization is registered in the Commercial Registry.
- The company’s registration number.
- The VAT number.
- The Tax Identification Code (CIF), which must be 9 characters long.

2. Company address. This must match exactly the address shown in the Commercial Registry. Please provide:
- The country, and use the address search tool.
- The city and postal code (these fields will autocomplete, but can be edited if needed).

3. Company activity:
- Select your business sector from the dropdown list (it must match what appears in the Commercial Registry).
- Add a short description of your business (maximum 500 characters).
- Indicate an estimated monthly transaction volume.

Step 3: documentation
As a joint ownership, the documents you need to attach to verify the account are:
- NIF accreditation card.
- President's appointment document.
- Administrator's appointment document.
Step 4: summary and submission
You’re almost done! 🎉In this final step, you’ll see a summary of all the information you’ve provided (association data, account holder details, etc.) so you can review it carefully. You’ll also see the name and phone number of the account holder, who will receive the final verification.
When you click Request verification, a confirmation code will be sent to the account holder’s mobile phone to validate the process. If everything is correct, your request status will change to Awaiting response.
⚠️ Once you click Request verification, the process cannot be canceled. Please make sure all the information is accurate before completing this final step.
