How can I open a Wallet account as a company?
Below, you’ll find a detailed explanation of each step you’ll go through to open a Wallet account as a company.
Please note that during the account creation process, your information will be saved automatically every time you complete a step or sub-step.
Step 1: account holder
In this first step, you’ll need to identify who will be the account holder by completing the following fields:
Do you want to open the account under your name?
-
Yes. A form will open with your Sesame details (name, surname, date of birth, email, and phone number). You’ll need to indicate whether you are the Legal Representative or the Authorized Signatory.

- No. You’ll have two options to designate another person as the account holder:
- Choose an existing user in Sesame: the account will be created under that user’s name. You’ll need to confirm their details and indicate whether they are the Legal Representative or the Authorized Signatory.
-
Create a new user (free): a new Sesame account will be created for this user, and you’ll need to specify whether they are the Legal Representative or the Authorized Signatory.

⚠️ Whenever the account holder is marked as an Authorized Signatory, you’ll be asked later in the process to download and upload both the "Power of Attorney signed by the legal representative" and the "Legal representative’s ID document" (in color).

Step 2: organization
In this step, you’ll need to fill in your company information, divided into three sections:
1. Company Identification. Here you’ll specify:
- "Company" as the type of organization.
- The company’s name (it must match exactly as it appears in the Commercial Registry).
- Whether the organization is registered in the Commercial Registry.
- The company’s registration number.
- The VAT number.
- The Tax Identification Code (CIF), which must be 9 characters long.
- The regulatory classification (mandatory): Active non-financial company, Passive non-financial company, or Financial institution. Most organizations that sell products or services are active non-financial companies.

2. Company address. This must match exactly the address shown in the Commercial Registry. Please provide:
- The country and use the address search tool.
- The city and postal code (these fields will autocomplete, but can be edited if needed).

3. Company activity:
- Select your business sector from the dropdown list (it must match what appears in the Commercial Registry).
- Add a short description of your business (maximum 500 characters).
- Indicate an estimated monthly transaction volume.

To proceed to the next step, all mandatory fields must be completed.
💡 Not sure which classification to choose? We explain it in How can I complete the regulatory and tax information required to open my Wallet account?
⚠️ If you change the type of organization after uploading documents, those documents will be deleted and you’ll need to upload the ones required for the new type.
Step 3: company owners
In this third step, you’ll need to add the real owners of the company (also known as ultimate beneficial owners).
To do this, click Add real owner and complete the personal and contact information requested in the form.
For each owner, we’ll ask for the following details, among others:
- Gender. Mandatory for all owners.
- Date of birth. Their age must be between 4 and 100.
- Whether they’re a Legal Representative. Check this option for anyone who is.
- Nationality. Mandatory for the Legal Representative. Note that this is their nationality, not their country of birth.
- Are they a U.S. person? Answer Yes or No (no option is selected by default). If you answer Yes, also enter their U.S. tax identification number (maximum 20 characters).
- Percentage of capital. If they’re an owner by shareholding, they must hold at least 25%.

⚠️ To continue, at least one of the owners must be marked as a Legal Representative. If there’s only one, you won’t be able to delete them, so add another Legal Representative first if you need to change it.
Step 4: documentation
As a company, you’ll need to attach the following documents to verify your account:
- Certificate of Beneficial Ownership (UBO).
-
Sworn Statement for Beneficial Owners (you can download the official template directly from this screen).

Step 5: summary and submission
You’re almost done! 🎉In this final step, you’ll see a summary of all the information you’ve provided (company data, account holder details, etc.) so you can review it carefully. You’ll also see the name and phone number of the account holder, who will receive the final verification.
When you click Request verification:
- We’ll check that no information is missing. If anything is missing, or if our payment provider (Swan) rejects any of it, you’ll be taken straight to the field in question and shown the reason. Fix it and click Request verification again.
- If everything is correct, the Swan window will open so the account holder can complete their registration and identity verification.
⚠️ Once you click Request verification, the process cannot be canceled. Please make sure all the information is accurate before completing this final step.
