How can I create an approval flow?

Approval flows allow you to define levels and the order in which requests are approved, making them ideal for managing requests that require multiple validations.

To create an approval flow, follow this path:

Configuration >> Automations >> Approval flows >> Create.

Then, follow these steps:

  1. Give your flow a name that makes it easy to identify. For example: "Training approval" or "Travel expenses".
  2. Choose who will be responsible for approving at the first level. You can select from:
  • People: if you want to assign a specific individual.
  • Roles: if you prefer to assign it to users with a specific role.
  1. Click "Add level" to include as many approval levels as you need. For example, a first level for the direct manager and a second for the finance department.

Before exiting, make sure to click "Save" to apply your changes. That’s it!

From the main flows table, click the three dots to:

  • Duplicate: create an exact copy of the flow, including all approvers.
  • Delete: delete the flow entirely (you won’t be able to use it for managing requests once it’s deleted).

Very important!

If a level doesn’t have any assigned approvers, the request will be automatically approved and move on to the next level.
