How do I set a time margin for automatically closing clock ins?
To set a tolerance margin before automatically closing a clock in that remains open, follow these steps.
Step 1 - Access the closing automation
- Go to Configuration >> Automations >> Clock ins/outs.
- Open the automation "The system will clock out when the assigned schedule is completed".
Step 2 - Enable the margin
- Check the "Set margin" box.
- Enter the number of minutes you want to set, between 1 and 720 minutes (up to 12 hours). The default is 60 minutes.
- Save the changes.
Step 3 - Choose who it applies to
You can configure the margin at company, department, or employee level, depending on the policy you need.
Please note
- Not compatible with "Clock out when theoretical working hours are met exactly". Only one of these two options can be active at the same time.
- Applies to the daily schedule only. This option works based on the daily working day. The weekly period is not yet available.
- No scheduled theoretical hours, no automatic closure. If the employee has no schedule assigned for that day, for example, due to a public holiday, time off, or a flexible schedule with no defined hours, the clock in will not be closed automatically. In that case, it must be closed manually, unless a fixed-time clock out is also active.
