Can I configure automations that work as conditional triggers?

Yes. In Sesame, you can configure automations that work based on triggers; that is, events or actions that activate an automation.

These triggers can be based on different types of events:

  • Employee events: hire, offboarding, department change, end of probationary period, work anniversary.
  • Time-based events: a specific date, X days before or after an event, or at a set frequency.
  • Request events: creation of a new request, approval, rejection, or status change.
  • Time tracking events: missing clock in/out, late arrivals, or clock ins/outs logged outside the designated location.

In practice, automations that work as conditional triggers in Sesame are primarily related to notifications. You can configure them to send email alerts to both administrators and employees, and in some cases also via the app. These notifications are triggered automatically when the defined event occurs.

To configure them, go to: Configuration >> Automations >> Notifications.

Here are some examples of automations you can enable:

  • Send an email every time a clock in/out is logged.
  • Notify shift changes.
  • Send a notification after a shift starts if the employee has not logged their workday.
  • Send a notification after a shift ends if the employee has not logged the end of their workday.
  • Notify a specific role every time an employee uploads a document to the Document manager.
  • Notify when a message is received via the HR Chat.
  • Notify a specific role when a change is made to an employee's profile.
  • Notify the employee about their requests related to overtime hours or excess time.
