What are compensatory absence types?

In Sesame, compensatory absence types are the time-off types to which the positive overtime accumulated by employees is directed when you decide to compensate their time with time off.

You can create as many compensatory absence types as you need (for example: Regular hours, Public holidays worked, or Night hours), configure each one independently, and assign them to the relevant people. In fact, employees can have several absence types active simultaneously, keeping independent balances for each one.

Why is it useful to have different absence types? This flexibility is particularly useful if your collective agreement requires differentiating the origin of overtime hours. Instead of mixing all the time into a single balance, you can keep precise track of each type separately.

So, when you compensate with time off an employee who has several absence types assigned, the system will ask you to select which specific absence type you want to send that time to.
