What is "Locations" and how does it work?
Locations is the section from which you centrally manage all the GPS locations Sesame uses to validate geolocated clock ins/outs.
You can create a location once and assign it to as many Workplaces, Departments, or Groups as you need, instead of configuring it repeatedly in each one.
A location is an "authorised clock in/out zone": you define where it is and what radius it covers, and decide which parts of your company it applies to.
To create a location:
- Go to Configuration >> Company >> Locations.
- Click "Create location" and complete:
- Name (required);
- Address (search for it and the map will place the pin automatically) or coordinates (manual latitude/longitude);
- Radius in metres (between 10 and 5,000).
- From the locations list, click the "Assigned to" column.
- A prompt will open with the available entities (Workplaces, Departments, Groups).
- Tick the ones you want to link and click "Assign".
A single location can be assigned to multiple entities at once, while an entity can also have multiple locations (for example, if a department covers two separate buildings).

From the quick actions menu (three dots) available on each row, you can edit the name, address, or radius, or delete the location. Please note that deleting it will automatically unassign it from all the entities it was linked to.
To view and manage this section, you need the corresponding access for "View locations" and "Manage locations", configurable from Roles and access.
