Does accumulated overtime (positive/negative) expire?

The accumulated balance expires only if you enable this option in step 4 ("Periods and expiry") of the policy creation process.

Expiry configuration options:

  • You can apply a single expiry rule for the entire balance or define independent rules by compensation type (time off and pay). If you manage positive and negative balances separately, you can also assign different rules to each one.
  • For each block, you can set the balance to expire after a set number of days from when it is generated, on specific dates of the year, or indicate that it never expires.

Advanced options after expiry:

Instead of the time being lost when it expires, you can configure two alternatives:

  1. Allow the balance to remain compensatable even though it has expired.
  2. Automatically transfer the expired time-off balance to pay.

Configure automatic notifications (step 6 of policy creation) so that the system sends you an alert before the balance expires, with enough time to compensate it if still possible.
