How do I assign employees to an overtime policy?

The assignment connects the policies you have configured (how overtime is calculated, how it is compensated, who validates it...) with the specific people they will apply to.

You can assign employees in two ways from Configuration >> Time management >> Compensation:

  • Click the avatar available on the policy card.
  • Click the policy card and go to the "Assignments" tab.

Use the filters (by department, workplace, group, or individual employees) to speed up the assignment process.

If an employee is assigned to the company's general policy (annual period) and also to a department policy (monthly period), the policy with the more specific period applies to that employee (department policy).

Key recommendations 💡

  • Assign the policy before the calculation period you are interested in begins. Changing policy in the middle of an active period may alter the balance calculation for that stretch. Check the dates carefully before confirming the assignment.
  • Define a default policy. Setting up a default policy ensures new employees have their hours calculated from day one.
