Are overtime hours recorded?
Yes, overtime hours are recorded!
Sesame’s time tracking system registers all the hours worked by employees. Any hours that exceed the number configured in the schedules will be counted as overtime.
Thanks to this overtime balance, when not all the configured hours are completed, they can be compensated with the additional hours already worked. It’s a practical way to self-manage the workday.
These are the two ways in which an employee’s overtime can be recorded:
1. Based on the assigned schedule or shift
If an employee records more hours than those established in their assigned schedule or shift, overtime hours will be generated.
Example:
- Assigned schedule: 9:00 – 17:00 (8 h).
- The employee clocks out at 18:00.
- 1 hour of overtime is recorded.
2. Based on the assigned contract
If an employee records more hours than those established in the contract configured in their profile, these will also be counted as overtime.
Example:
- Contract: 35 h per week.
- The employee records 38 h.
- 3 hours of overtime are recorded.
You can choose how overtime hours are recorded by following this path: Configuration >> Company >> Advanced configuration >> Theoretical hour count.
Tip
You can also define which calculation method to apply from your account settings, ensuring it matches your company’s internal policies.
Path: Configuration >> Schedules >> Overtime balance >> Multiplier rules.
