How do I enable and configure weighting by question group?
Weighting lets you decide how much each question group influences the final result of an evaluation or survey. Choose from 3 weight distribution modes and define precisely how much each area counts in the result, so that your organisation's real priorities are reflected.
⚠️ To enable block weights, the "Add scoring" toggle in the questionnaire must be enabled first. Additionally, this feature is only available in 360° Evaluations and standard surveys; it does not apply to 9-box evaluations.
How to enable it
- Access the Evaluations or Surveys module from the main menu.
- Go to the questionnaire configuration.
- Enable the "Add scoring" toggle, if it isn't already.
- Enable the "Add weighting" option. You'll need to choose one of the three modes:
- Score-based weight (enabled by default). The system distributes the weight of each group in proportion to its maximum possible score. For example, if the "Technical skills" block can reach 15 points and the "Soft skills" block only 5, the first will automatically represent 75% of the result and the second 25%. If you modify the evaluation or survey while it is in draft, the weights are recalculated automatically.
- Equal weight. All eligible groups receive exactly the same percentage, regardless of how many questions they contain. This mode is useful when you want to give every area the same level of importance.
-
Manual weight. The administrator can freely assign the percentages. No group can be left without a value, and the total must add up to exactly 100% before the evaluation or survey can be activated.
⚠️ Only groups that have at least one scored question participate in the distribution. Blocks made up solely of free-text or organisational chart questions are automatically excluded and will be highlighted on screen.
How weights are reflected in the results
Once the evaluation or survey has been completed, the final result for each evaluated employee incorporates the weights you have previously configured. You can view this from the Results section:
- In the Heat Maps section, all scores are shown with the weighting applied.
- The header of each group column in the Heat Maps by area and by employee shows the assigned weight percentage.
- A banner at the top of the Heat Maps section confirms that weighting is active in that evaluation.
