Can employees request a change to their personal data?
If you enable the “Block editing of the ‘My profile’ section in the employee view” option (Configuration >> Automations >> User access), you can allow employees to request updates to their personal data.
To configure this, follow these steps:
- Go to Configuration >> Automations >> User access.
- Find the “Block editing of the 'My profile' section in the employee view” toggle.
- Click “Set which personal data fields can be requested for changes” and tick or untick the available fields. Please note that if there are pending employee requests, you will not be able to modify these fields until they have been resolved.
- Finally, under “Personal data update requests will be approved by the approval flow”, choose who will review the requests (by default, the system will assign the employee's direct manager).
You can create approval flows from Configuration >> Automations >> Approval flows. If you need help doing so, see this article.
- Finally, click Save.
Please note:
- If you already had profile blocking enabled, all fields and the direct manager flow will have been selected automatically. You can adjust this at any time.
- Requests do not support partial approvals. The reviewer approves or rejects all of the changes submitted in that request.
