Can I add a salary from the Contracts section?
Yes! You can add a salary from the Contracts section. To do so, once you have completed all the steps in the contract creation process, a notice will appear asking whether you'd like to add a salary.
If the answer is yes, a new view will open with the following fields to fill in: gross salary, currency, pay frequency, prorated payments, number of payments, gross base salary, contribution group, professional category, tax regime, and comment.
⚠️ If the new salary has a different currency or pay period from the current salary, you'll see a confirmation prompt before saving. If the employee has supplements or benefits assigned, the prompt will show you which ones would be unassigned by the change.
Each automatic activation or closure is logged in the comments icon next to the salary, along with the reason for the change.
How do I know which salary is active?
Each salary displays a status, calculated from its start and end dates:
- Active: the salary currently in effect. There can only be one per employee.
- Upcoming: the salary has a future start date. It will be activated once its start date arrives, at which point the salary that was "active" will automatically become "expired".
- Expired: the salary already has a past end date. It is kept in the history so you always retain the employee's complete salary record.
Please note that you cannot create a salary with the same start date as one the employee already has on record.
