How do I receive candidates through WhatsApp?
With WhatsApp Apply, candidates can apply for your job offers directly from WhatsApp, no endless forms, no leaving the app they use every day.
The process is straightforward: you generate a QR code or a link, share it wherever you like, and an AI assistant takes care of chatting with the candidate, collecting their information, and automatically creating their profile in Sesame's ATS.
Activation and configuration
To set up this integration, follow these steps:
- Go to Configuration >> Publications on portals >> Integrations and click on the WhatsApp Apply card.
- Select "Connect account" and log in to Meta (with your Facebook or Instagram account).
- Add a company phone number for the AI assistant to use when communicating with candidates.
- Define your assistant's personality, you can choose from 3 different tones to match your company culture: Formal and corporate, Approachable professional, or Modern and dynamic.
- Set up an opening message so candidates only need to tap "Send" to start the conversation, breaking the ice instantly.
Once the accounts are linked, you're ready to start sharing your job offers.
How to share a vacancy
You have two options for connecting candidates to your job offers: a QR code or a unique URL:
- For all your open vacancies: go to Recruitment >> Job offers >> Vacancies and click the QR icon at the top. This generates a general access point; the assistant will guide the candidate through the conversation to find out which role they want to apply for.
- For a specific vacancy: open a specific job offer and click its own QR icon. This generates a unique code, so the candidate goes straight to the point.
When you click the QR icon, the system will let you:
- Copy a unique URL: ideal for sharing on social media, emails, your website, or direct messages.
- Download a PDF with the QR code: perfect for printing and displaying on posters, at events, in flyers, or on your shop door.
How candidates arrive in Sesame
When the candidate scans the code or opens the link, their WhatsApp will open, and the conversation with the AI will begin. The assistant will ask the necessary questions and, as soon as the conversation is complete, their profile will appear automatically in the vacancy pipeline.
Within the pipeline, the source of each application is clearly identified, so you always know which candidates have come through WhatsApp.
