How can I moderate Community content?
The Content moderation section gives you all the alerts about potentially inappropriate content in Community in one place. Alerts are generated in two ways:
- When someone in your company reports a post or a comment.
- When the filter detects one of the words you have configured.
To access Content moderation, you need the Community configuration access.
Steps to follow
- Go to Community and click Content moderation in the sidebar, just below Create channel.
- In the Alerts view, you'll see pending alerts sorted from most to least critical. If you prefer, you can see the most recent ones first.
- Review the information in each alert: type (automatic filter or employee report), content preview, author, channel, date, detected word, and number of reports.
- Click See more to view the full content as it was when it was reported. If you want to see it in its channel, click the channel name: it will open in a new tab.
- Click the report counter (for example, "3 reports") to see who reported the content and each person's reason.
- Decide what to do with the alert:
- Delete content: the content disappears from the channel, and the alert moves to the Deleted status. You don't need to be in the channel.
- Dismiss alert: if the content isn't a problem, the alert moves to the Dismissed status.
- Check History for deleted and dismissed alerts, including the action taken, who took it, and when.
If someone highlighted a specific word when reporting, you'll see it highlighted in the alert. Click Add to word bank so the filter detects it from now on.
When you delete content from Moderation, its author receives a notification, with no indication of who deleted it or the specific reason.
Keep in mind
- Content is never hidden or blocked automatically: it stays published until you decide otherwise.
- If several people report the same content, you'll see a single alert with the total number of reports.
- If the author edits the content after the report, the alert keeps the original content as it was when detected.
- If the author deletes their content before you review the alert, you'll see a notice that it no longer exists.
