How can I configure the Community word filter?
The Word dictionary automatically checks posts and comments across all Community channels. When it detects a word, phrase, or emoji from your list, it creates an alert in Moderation for you to review.
Steps to follow
- Go to Community >> Moderation >> Word dictionary.
- Type what you want to monitor. You can add single words, multi-word phrases, or emojis, one at a time or several at once separated by commas.
- Click Add. The filter starts working straight away.
- To remove a word, delete it from the list. It will stop being detected from that moment, but the alerts it has already generated remain.
Let AI help you build the list
If you don't know where to start, use the AI assistant. Tell it about your company's industry, the type of internal communication, and the languages your workforce speaks, and it will suggest words, phrases, and their variants. Review the suggestions, edit them, and choose which ones to add.
Keep in mind
- The filter is not case-sensitive and detects partial matches: if you add "insult", it will also detect "insults".
- It only checks content published from the moment you add the word. It doesn't apply to earlier posts.
- If someone edits a post or a comment and the new version contains a word from the list, an alert is generated.
- The list is the same for all channels. You can't set up a different filter for each channel.
- You can't add a word that is already on the list. If you add several at once and some already existed, only the missing ones will be added.
Because the filter detects partial matches, a very short word can appear inside other perfectly harmless words. If you dismiss lots of alerts for the same word, consider replacing it with a more specific one.
