How do I create and manage timetables?
Timetables let you organize employee shifts in a flexible, structured way. In Sesame, you can create as many timetables as you need, without having to link them to a workplace or group.
Only users who hold the Shift Manager role can create and manage timetables.
Timetable creation settings
Before you get started, decide how you want your timetables to be created:
- Go to Configuration >> Schedules >> Shifts >> General.
- Find the "Create timetables automatically" option.
- If enabled, a timetable will be generated automatically each time you create a workplace, group, or subgroup.
- If disabled, you can create timetables independently, only when you choose to.

Already have timetables? This setting does not affect existing timetables. You'll find them exactly as you left them.
How to create a timetable
To create a timetable, go to "Shifts (Beta)" from the side panel and follow these steps:
- Click "Create timetable".
- Fill in the form fields:
- Timetable name.
- Timetable description.
- Click "Save", and you're done! Your timetable has been created.
You can then continue with employee assignment. If you'd rather do it later, find the timetable in the table on the "Shifts" main screen and click the avatar in the "Employees" column. You can add as many people as you like; there are no restrictions.

How to manage a timetable
From the "Shifts" main screen, using the quick actions button (three dots), you can:
- Edit any timetable and update the name, description, or administrators.
- Mark a timetable as a favorite so it appears at the top of the table.
-
Archive or delete a timetable if you no longer need it.

This view also displays the following information about each timetable: name, assigned employees, date of last modification, and status (new, pending publication, published).
