Can I delete an employee's shifts?

Yes, you can delete an employee's shifts at any time. In fact, you can do it individually (one by one) or in bulk for several at once. Here's the step-by-step guide.

1. Delete a specific shift

This option is ideal when you want to delete an employee's shift on a specific day.

  1. Go to Shifts and open the relevant timetable.
  2. From the "Employees" view, navigate to the week containing the shift you want to delete.
  3. Click on the shift and, in the dropdown, click the bin icon (in the top right corner).
  4. The shift will be deleted immediately.

Please note ⚠️: if the timetable has already been published, remember to republish it after making changes so employees can see the updated schedule.

2. Delete shifts in bulk (several at once)

If you need to delete multiple shifts at once — whether for several employees or across a wide date range — use bulk actions.

  1. Open the relevant timetable from the Shifts tool.
  2. Tick the selection box to the left of each employee's name.
  3. Click the "Bulk actions" dropdown (top left) and select "Delete shifts".
  4. Next:
    1. Define the date range for deleting shifts. By default, you'll see the week you currently have open, but you can change this.

    2. Delete all shifts assigned in that range for the selected employees, or only shifts of a specific type (e.g., only "Night" shifts or only "Afternoon" shifts).

  5. Click "Next" and confirm the action.

Please note ⚠️: make sure you have selected the correct date range before confirming the action, as it cannot be undone. Remember to republish the timetable so your team can see the updated information.
