What does the Shift Manager role do?
In Sesame, there is a specific default role for managing your team's shifts: the "Shift manager".
The account administrator can designate any employee as Holder of this role, even if they already have another role assigned.
How do I assign the Shift manager role?
It's very simple! Follow this path:
Configuration >> Roles and access >> Shift manager >> "Holders" column >> Select the role holder.
Next, you'll need to choose the groupings they will manage. You can assign:
- the entire company,
- one or more workplaces,
- one or more departments,
- one or more employees.
Once you have completed your selection, you'll be able to see the list of all employees who are Holders of the "Shift manager" role, along with all the entities or groupings assigned to them.
The "Shift manager" can view the timetables to which the employees they manage are assigned, and assign employees, as well as shifts and patterns, to timetables.
Please note ⚠️: as this is a system default role, you cannot edit its access level for the Shifts tool.
If you want to extend the role's capabilities (for example, creating or deleting timetables, or configuring shifts, patterns, and restrictions), create a new custom role.
